The idea has came up, so i thought i would put some feelers out there. This is far from official just gauging interest. However, would anyone be interested in a formal cosplay ball. It would be a black tie dress code.
If you have ever been to Anime Weekend Atlanta it would be along the same lines as that. If not here a link.

If this is something you would be interested let us know. As if enough people show interest this is something we can work towards, however if its not we obviously wont waste our time working towards that end.

cosplay ball sounds fun.  course with it being a black tie dress code I'd have to actually find something other than my standard dress code of jeans of convention t-shirt ;p  Interest is sparked here.

Hi, the DreamStitcher here

Of course I would be interested in a formal Ball. I always encourage everyone interested in costumes to challenge themselves, and 'kick it up a notch'. The costumes shouldn't necessarily be restricted to 'Steam Punk' or Gothic 'Lolita'. There are plenty of stunning elegant gowns from such sources as "Magna Carta" or impressive uniforms from "Code Geass" etc.

(Keep in mind that MarsCon hosts a Masquerade Ball every fall, the first saturday after Halloween. It's a great opportunity to take out those beautiful formal outfits to show off one more time)

Hope this Ball happens, I'll definitely come

A cosplay ball would be super fun Cheesy the only problem I have with the concept is that sometimes cosplay balls end up with a rule that you have to dress up specifically as an anime character >_> which is very difficult for most as the fancy anime outfits are generally REALLY fancy and hard to make/buy >_> so, I'd definetly say to avoid that rule XD a tight dress code is always fine as long as it's not too tight.

I really hope this happens Cheesy

If we'd do it, we wouldn't require people to come dressed up as anime characters. You'd just have to be in formal wear would be the only requirement. If you want to sport a suit and tie that has nothing to do with anime thats fine.  If you would want to spend your time making a fancy formal anime outfit that would be cool. But it would be by no means a requirement.

Well it's something we are looking into. Based off fan interest, there are people who would attend. However, something of this scale isn't something we are just going to throw together. It's something that would need to be done in 2011.
