Different hotel, different weapon policies?

I know this may seem odd, but seeing that we're no longer in downtown St. Paul, does anyone see the weapons policy changing back to the policy they had back when they were at the Ramada? I just ask this because one of the cosplays i'm thinking about working on *Cough* Kamina *Cough* would have a katana. Seeing that we won't be in a highly populated area, and next to a courthouse might help out a lot with this.

At the moment I don't have an answer for you (regarding MAC that is), but the way you worded your question makes me think you are asking about the wrong convention.. Anime Detour was at the Ramada for several years, & just last year was at the Crown Plaza in down town St. Paul by the court house.. I do know that AD is allowing swords that must remain peace bound at all times, & will not be permitting Airsoft again this year..

 Last I checked policies for MAC are still being revised, but I dot believe you are going to have an issue with your cosplay as long as you keep your katana in it's sheath..

General rule of thumb is when you get to the convention, check your weapon in with security (see your local security Neko) and get it peace bound if required.
